Richard Levychin, CPA, CGMA is a Partner with KBL, LLP where he is the Partner-in-Charge of the firm's Emerging Business Group. Richard is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He has over 25 years of accounting, auditing, business advisory services, and tax experience working with both privately owned and publicly held entities in various industries including financial services, media, entertainment, sports, real estate, not-for-profit, technology, and professional services. His experience also includes expertise with SEC filings, and initial public offerings. As a business advisor he advises companies, helping them to identify and define their business and financial objectives, and then provides them with the on-going personal attention necessary to help them achieve their established goals.
In 2016 Richard was presented with the 2016 Arthur Ashe Leadership Award. In 2015 Richard was presented by his alma mater Baruch College with the Baruch College Alumni Association's "Alumni Leadership Award for Business". In 2013 Richard received the title of "Best Accountant" from The New York Enterprise Report. Richard is a past winner of The Network Journal’s prestigious “40 Under 40” award. Richard is a recipient of several awards from the National Association of Black Accountants.
Richard has written articles on a wide range of topics, which have been featured in several periodicals including Dollars and Sense, New York Enterprise Report, Black Enterprise Magazine, Forbes, Business Insider, and The Network Journal. He has also conducted seminars on a wide range of business topics including SEC matters and taxation for several organizations including the Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference, the Entrepreneurs' Organization (New York chapter) and the Learning Annex.
Richard is a member of several organizations including the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Tax Professionals, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a 400,000 member global accounting membership organization. Richard was previously a member of the AICPA Council which is the AICPA’s governing body that takes actions which affect the AICPA and the accounting profession as a whole. Richard was one of the founding members of the AICPA National Commission for Diversity and Inclusion which is focused on increasing diversity in the accounting profession. Richard is the co-chairperson of EO 2030, an initiative of the New York Chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, a dynamic, global network of more than 12,000 business owners in over 50 countries, for which he is currently a member and has served previously as a Board Member.
Richard is a graduate of Baruch College, and started his career with a Big Four CPA firm. .
Sanjay Singla, CPA, CGMA, MBA, MSC is an audit partner in KBL’s Assurance and Advisory Services Group with over 15 years of experience in accounting, auditing, business advisory services, and taxation. Sanjay oversees KBL’s Not-For-Profit Group. Sanjay started his career at Nestle, progressed to Pfizer, and worked at a Big Four CPA firm before joining KBL.
As an audit partner he works closely with clients in both the private and public sectors. His focus is on initial public offerings, SEC filings, taxation, and not for profit organizations. His expertise lies in conducting external audits to ascertain the validity and reliability of information that then provides the basis for an opinion on a company’s financial statements, and an assessment of its internal controls.
Sanjay is a proponent of giving back to the community. Accordingly, he contributes his time, money, and effort in assisting various non-profit organizations and provides accounting services to underrepresented communities.
Sanjay is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as licensed to practice as a certified public accountant in New York. Sanjay has an MBA with a concentration in Finance and a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences.
Michael Pollack, CPA is the partner-in-charge of KBL’s SEC practice and quality control, and the partner-in-charge of KBL’s Public Company (SEC) Practices Group. He has over twenty years of experience in public accounting and consulting to over 100 publicly traded and 250 private companies. He also has vast knowledge of capital financing, debt refinancing, strategic repositioning, development restructuring, and private placement offerings. Michael’s specialties include reverse merger transactions and the initial registration process for the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Michael has been a director in regional firms specializing in the development and growth of their SEC practice. He has directed various SEC engagements as well as financial service engagements, and has been utilized as an outsourced CFO for a number of small public companies.
Michael has audited as well as prepared audits in accordance with the standards established by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, and has prepared numerous market and financial feasibility studies that directly led to the raising of $1.5 billion dollars in financing.
Michael graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics. Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as licensed to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland.
Jon Stein, CPA is the Managing Partner of KBL's California offices. Jon has over 20 years of accounting, auditing, business advisory services, and tax experience, and has been involved in forensics accounting and turnaround engagements. Jon has worked with both privately and publicly held companies that are manufacturers, importers, retailers, distributors, and that are in financial services.
Jon's primary focus is on increasing profitability for small and middle market businesses. Jon is a graduate of California State University at Northridge.
Nora Galleros, CPA is a Director with KBL in the Not-For-Profit Group where she focuses on serving public sector clients. She has over 20 years of experience in performing consulting, financial audits and compliance engagements for non-profit and governmental organizations. Her extensive audit experience includes performing audits in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America, Government Auditing Standards, Uniform Guidance (formerly, OMB Circular A-133), HUD Audit Guide and other governmental entity audit guides. Previously Nora was an audit partner at the CPA firms O'Connor Davies and Watson Rice focusing on non-profit and governmental organizations.
Nora is a member of several organizations, including the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, Member, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the NJCPA Government Accounting and Audit Interest Group. She is the President of the National Council of Philippine American Canadian Accountants. Nora graduated Fairleigh Dickinson University with an MBA in Accounting.
Tony Carnesi, CPA is a Director in KBL’s Emerging Business Group where he focuses on consulting, process improvement and business advisory services. He has over 30 years of experience in public accounting and consulting. He has managed audit and tax engagements for a wide range of businesses, including privately and publicly held companies and not-for-profits. Currently, his primary focus is working closely with businesses to implement sound business management practices in order to support controlled growth and increased and sustained profitability.
Through the use of strategic business building methods and sound advice, Tony is able to assist the CEOs of emerging enterprises to grow their businesses in a sustained manner while increasing profitability, and improving their personal lives.
Tony is a Certified Public Accountant and a TAB (The Alternative Board) certified facilitator. TAB is a platform for creating boards of directors for business owners who don’t have one thereby leveraging the collective knowledge of other successful business owners in a formal structure. Tony is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has appeared on Fox Business News and Good Day New York and has been featured in the New York Times and Crain’s New York. Tony is an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management.
